Welcome - About Well Rooted Motherhood
+ How to stay rooted in motherhood when you are in the midst of pure chaos -
Welcome to Well Rooted Motherhood. I am so happy to have you join me here! It is my hope that this space will act as a retreat for you as you navigate your journey of motherhood.
Well-Rooted Motherhood was created after becoming a mom of twins in 2016. Having a graduate degree in psychology and certifications in intuitive life coaching & integrative health, I spent much of my time focused on whole wellness. Once I became pregnant, it all flew out the window. I felt like everything I knew was no longer applicable to mom life.
Life was different once I became pregnant - the constant migraines and nausea left me feeling weak and defeated. Hospital bedrest made me feel like I had lost all control (something, I like to have!). After an almost 80-pound weight gain, my body was completely unrecognizable to me. Postpartum anxiety consumed me -
to say I felt broken was an understatement.
BEFORE PREGNANCY - All I had wanted to do was teach women how to become healthier, to be more connected to their intuition, and conquer the anxiety and depression they faced.
In my postpartum period, I tried to write and create, but the lack of sleep made it hard to focus. As a creative person over the past few years, I kept creating content and sharing as I could. But my main focus was my family and my home - the pandemic had me working from home, and it helped to really bring my attention to how much I LOVED being a homemaker and mother. Though I still had the nagging feeling that I was meant to still support women in their own struggles. I knew it was not the time to start a practice and take on clients, but I could get back to that blog that I started back in 2016 about wellness and motherhood…
And that is how Well Rooted Motherhood came to be.
To say that I have it all figured out would be a lie. I do not have all (or many) answers, but I have a DEEP passion to support mothers on their journey. Some things I will be learning right alongside you. Other topics, I am well versed in and can share educational knowledge and personal experiences that, I hope, can help you improve your own wellness, build a more intentional family life, and allow you to find JOY even in the hardest of seasons.
Now - more on what you will find here -
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE WELL ROOTED IN MOTHERHOOD?
To me, when I think of being rooted, I think of being grounded, firmly in place, even during the most chaotic of motherhood days. We all are thrown curve balls in motherhood (and life) and it is easy to lose your footing. When we have established a firm foundation, it is harder to get off track, it might - scratch that, it WILL happen, where you will have bad days, but you will be able to rebound faster from those crazy moments and focus back on what is most important.
HOW DO WE STAY ROOTED?
By trusting in something greater than ourselves. By leaning on God’s strength, and having an acceptance for the season we are in now, as well as learning how to live in it, with as much joy as possible
By taking small steps each day, we can start to cultivate a strong foundation in all aspects of our wellbeing
✧ Nourishing our body & mind
✧ Living in rhythm with the seasons for optimal wellness
✧ Creating & keeping a comfortable home for those we love the most
✧ Bringing more joy to home & family by connecting through intentional activities
✧ Using simple mini-routines to help you stay on track with goals
✧ Having a spiritual practice, that we can lean on, during the good & bad days
✧ Deepening our connection to our (mothers) intuition
