Oh lovely one, this sounds brutal for you, I am so sorry you were in so much pain. I truly hope you can have a rest from the migraines for a bit. I love reading all of this, especially the meal plan bit!

I have an autoimmune condition, hashimotos, and recently being in post partum it’s having a flare up so I’ve had to up the medication. It sucks!!!

Sending big hugs for your week ahead xx

I am happy you liked the meal-plan! I was hesitate to start to share, because I feel like I am not sharing the most healthiest of things, but then I remembered, it is important to be real-life with this too, because it is a struggle for us as mothers to plan out the dinners that the family will actually eat!

oh mama-- I feel your frustration with this!! I have congential hypothyroidism and the medication is so easily thrown off by the hormones! I am praying for that it stablizes quickly. It is amazing how much the thyroid can affect!

Ugh I'm so sorry about the migraines my friend - I can relate! I've also been called a barometer, haha...weather changes really sent me for a loop. It's gotten better after having kids (no idea why), but it used to be wretched...and Mexican Coca Cola was one of my go-to helpers - for that, and admittedly, when morning sickness would get terrible! We do what we can, right?

Know that you don't owe us anything, dear one - it's a joy and privilege to hear your thoughts when you're able to share, but you are not beholden.

I know a few people who also swear by that soda I don't know why, but it does make a difference! I drank them quite a bit when I was pregnant too...it is what it is--and we truly do what we can to get through. Very much learning to be okay with that.

I am truly happy to hear that you got relief after having kids! that is a huge blessings!

And thank you! I do have to figure out what I want to do here still...I love writing and sharing but trying to figure out a rhythm that works! I am still trying to get some clairty on it.

I have been suffering from some invisible illnesses. Major depressive disorder, chronic and mysterious nerve pain, and migraines. This newsletter felt like it was written to me. Thank you for writing it and sharing. I’ve also been working my way through some invisible illnesses through simple art you can see on m instagram https://instagram.com/chanelriggle?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==

I am so happy that this article resonated for you, but I am sorry you have your own battles! It can be so hard, and I do think it’s so common to have more anxiety and depression when facing things that are wearing you down!

I’m not using Instagram much, so I only was able to see some of your art, but that one piece with the woman with her head in in hands spoke so much! I could feel that painting!

Keeping you in my prayers mama ❤️

I have OCD and anxiety and I've often asked God "Why me" in moments of deep struggle. While self pity in itself isn't super helpful, I think it is healthy to as God questions during different seasons of our lives - and I do know that he uses all things for his purposes. I love what you said about teaching your boys empathy. That's a really great way to look at it.

I can very much realte to your anxiety! yes, I think it is normal to feel /ask the why me when we have those on-going days of struggle. I know for myself, I think that when I start to feel that self-pity, it is when my anger starts to rise too because I really am not of that mindset..but we all have our moments I guess and (at least for myself) learn to not to beat ourselves about it, and remember to lean on something greater

I'm so, so sorry to hear about your migraines. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. I am a Roman Catholic, and in the Catholic tradition, St. Gemma Galgani (one of my favourite saints) is the patron saint of migraines. I will be especially asking her intercession for you, trusting that she will bring my intentions to Our Lord on your behalf. May God bless you.

thank you so much! II am Catholic too (though not a very "good" one) and love how the saints are there for us during these times. I honestly always forget about St. Gemma! I personally have been drawn to St. Teresa of Ávila, who is also for headaches. But I have to keep St. Gemma close by too! thank you again!

So sorry to hear about the migraines! I can absolutely relate. I’ve had migraines since childhood and they are awful. They are worse for me in the summertime and sometimes weather shifts can bring them on as well. Hugs to you Jennifer! 💛✨

I am so sorry to hear that you struggle with them too! Yes, the summer is usually so much worse for me too, we must be more senestive with the heat, it has always been a time that I dread, because the weather just always sets them off so much! Do you have anything that do that helps to calm them down?

I hate taking Motrin but that, as little light as possible, and a cold compress on my forehead usually does the trick with the pretty awful ones ✨

I’m with you, I hate taking things too but often there is no choice if we still need to somewhat function for the day!

“Maybe I am writing this to you, dear Mama. Maybe you had a week similar, where you hid your pain or illness from the world.

But I see you.”

Oh good because I have been struggling too ❤️

Your planner is so beautifully created! It’s not overwhelming and I can see putting so much together to organize my time better! I want to write another post about this actually for other mothers who are trying to embrace a slower life! You seriously created a very valuable resource!

I have to download the meal planner and book one next ! Especially after my dog literally ate the meal plan paper I was working on haha, I realized maybe time to go digital now 🤍
